Today is national pretzel day and we are celebrating as we like to do. We have really enjoyed taking time to celebrate, especially right now. It's been so much fun making memories with our families that we will never forget. Even something as simple as celebrating national pretzel day is bringing joy into both of our homes. And we couldn't ask for anything more.on a regular day, but especially right now.
We each did a different take on national pretzel day. At Leah's house they are dipped pretzel rods in delicious almond bark. This is a favorite at their house and it never disappoints! Heaven on a pretzel stick. This is quick and easy tutorial to follow from Very Best Baking, if you want to give these a try. At Elizabeth's house they attempted making soft pretzels and it was a raving success. They opted to do cinnamon and sugar instead of traditional salt, but will definitely be making pretzels again it is a lot easier than they realized. Elizabeth followed the recipe from A Chick and Her Garden, it's a sourdough base pretzel dough.
It's these simple things that can really make a difference and we have noticed a lot more peace in our own hearts as well as our families as we are focusing on fun and positive things and celebrating the small things.

I can't live without my KitchenAid. It makes baking so much easier. I love that I can walk away and do something else while it does the work for me.
I love these pre-cut was paper squares. It makes for a great non stick place to set your pretzel rods or other candy projects to keep the mess to a minimum.
This Wilton candy melting pot makes melting chocolate so easy!
These cooling racks are perfect for draining the water off of your soft pretzels after you boil them. They also work well for setting the pretzel rods on to allow the candy to harden.
