Friends, we are feeling it too. The chaos, the stress of having to entertain our children all day in the midst of everything we're seeing in the media. It's a lot. It's overwhelming and we're feeling it too. If there's one thing we're good at though, it's entertaining kids. So read on to find links and ideas and what we're going to be doing to keep our kids active and engaged amidst all this chaos.

Educational Activites/Websites for kids:

Though our kids would all be content with non-stop video games, we plan on getting out on walks as often as possible (keeping a safe distance away from other people of course). But here are a couple of ideas to get your started. I loved this post about 12 museums that offer virtual tours. What a great way to get a little culture. I also thought these were some fun bordeom busters to get the extra energy out of those kids! We have a total gym, a treadmill and a punching bag and are looking at a lot of rain this week where we live so, so if it doesn't look like walks are going to happen I plan to utilize these to get the kids moving their bodies. I printed out a kid friendly total gym circuit that we're going to be using in our fitness routines during this time. (I printed a mom friendly one out from the same site too) Check back here often. We will be adding to this often as we find really good ideas for fun and educational things to keep things running smoothly at home. We hope this helps you make the most of this extra family time. If you have any ideas you would like us to include please email us at modernfamilydesigns@gmail.com or post it on our facebook or instagram.

"When women support each other, incredible things happen." I have been lucky enough in life to experience the love and support of many beautiful, kind, loving and selfless women. Women who have lifted me up during times of deep sorrow. Women who have been there by my side during my highs and lows. Leah and I, our friendship really blossomed during some of our deepest, most challenging struggles, we supported each other through Target mom dates and playdates and more. We supported each other through tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

I truly believe that quote. I have seen it in my life. I have seen first hand what an incredible thing it can be to lift or be lifted by another woman. I have seen the profound difference that women can make in the lives of other women. By being there with a shoulder and a diet coke or a cup of coffee. By being there with a smile and a hug. By being there in the joys and the sorrows. Thank you to all of the beautfiful women in my life, you know who you are. I am changed for the better because of you. I will remember always deep in my soul the love and support you have given me and I have given you. It is a gift to be a woman and to have incredible women in your life and I for one will never take it for granted.

May each of us as women lift another today and everyday. It is a beautiful thing.

Happy National Women's Day today and every day.

St Patrick's Day is one of those holidays I always forget about. At the last minute I usually try to do something "festive". I love making memories with my boys and doing fun things. So usually I'll grab some green donuts or make our family favorite "magic salad". I think a lot of people know it as watergate salad.

This year I'm trying to be intentional and I want to make these memories count. I can't believe how fast time is flying with my kids and I want them to look back and remember all of it. All of the normal day to day, and all of the quirky, cute and fun.

You can throw the cutest St. Patrick's Day party with this party bundle. The rainbows and the clovers are so happy, all of those colors give me life. Also I love the food cards and the sweet sign for your buffet table. It's an Irish proverb that says "Laughter is brightest where food is best" I have so many fond memeories sitting around the dinner table laughing with my family (hey sis, if you're reading this remember our epic bubble gum blowing competition?). I love this proverb and I definitely want to have those kinds of memories with my boys, not which youTube video they watched during dinner. I think I need to step up my game. Ha!

I am loving these cauldrons, I'm going to order a pack or two and these gold coins. I'm thinking that will be a fun St. Patrick's day surprise for my boys. A few other details I'm planning are these darling paper products, and I really want to keep the rainbow theme going with these sweet treat bags from One Little Project.

All in all I think this year St. Patrick's Day is going to be a fun celebration full of memories. I don't know about you, but I love a chance to celebrate.
